Lidl–Trek won the 2026 Tour de France team classification in 224h 57m 43s, finishing 36m 57s ahead of UAE Team Emirates XRG. Red Bull–Bora–Hansgrohe was third.
The formal team ranking is only one way to judge team performance. UAE put two riders on the individual podium, Red Bull had the GC runner-up and two stage wins, EF Education–EasyPost won polka dots and two mountain stages, and Visma won the opening team time trial.

The four main jersey winners
| Jersey / classification | Winner | Key final figure |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow: General classification | Tadej Pogačar | 73h 56m 26s |
| Green: Points | Mads Pedersen | 559 points |
| Polka dot: Mountains | Richard Carapaz | 156 points |
| White: Young rider | Isaac del Toro | 74h 06m 08s overall time |
Pogačar won five stages. Pedersen became the first Danish winner of the Tour points classification and, according to the organizer, the sixth rider to win the points competition in all three Grand Tours. Carapaz won two stages late in the race and the mountains classification. Del Toro combined the white jersey with third overall in his Tour debut.
UAE Team Emirates XRG
UAE produced the overall winner and third place with Pogačar and del Toro. The team also took multiple stages and the white jersey. Its defining challenge was balancing Pogačar’s pursuit of yellow with del Toro’s podium defense in the final week.
Lidl-Trek
Lidl-Trek’s Tour was broader than one result. Pedersen won the green jersey and Stage 4, while Mattias Skjelmose and Juan Ayuso both finished in the GC top seven. That combination of points success and multiple high GC places explains why the team belongs near the center of any performance review.
Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe
Evenepoel finished second and won two stages. The team also endured setbacks, including crashes and withdrawals, but still left the race with a major GC result and a landmark Belgian victory.
EF Education-EasyPost
Carapaz gave EF a distinctive mountain campaign: two late stage wins, the polka-dot jersey and overall combativity while still finishing eighth overall.
Why team results need more than one ranking
Formal team classification, stage victories, jersey wins and GC placings measure different things. A useful team review should show all of them rather than declaring one squad “best” based on whichever metric produces the desired headline.

Why Lidl–Trek won the formal team competition
A.S.O.'s recap traces Lidl–Trek's lead back to Stage 4, when Mathias Vacek, Quinn Simmons and Mads Pedersen all made the successful break and Pedersen won. The team then attacked across the race while supporting both the green-jersey campaign and high GC positions for Mattias Skjelmose and Juan Ayuso.
That balance is exactly what the aggregate team classification rewards: multiple riders contributing strong times, not one superstar carrying a roster.
UAE dominated the individual podium story
UAE Team Emirates XRG had the overall winner in Pogačar and third place plus the white jersey in del Toro. That is arguably the strongest individual GC return of any team even though Lidl–Trek won the official team classification. The distinction should be explicit rather than forcing every metric into one “best team” label.
Other teams with clear identities
Red Bull–Bora–Hansgrohe had Evenepoel second overall and two stage wins. EF Education–EasyPost built its Tour around Carapaz's mountains campaign and two stage victories. Visma won the opening team time trial. Those outcomes make a team-results article useful even beyond the formal table.
Team results should include jersey work
Lidl–Trek's win was linked closely to Pedersen's green-jersey campaign, while UAE's work around Pogačar and del Toro produced yellow, white and two podium positions. EF's support for Carapaz helped turn repeated mountain attacks into both a classification win and stage victories.
Looking at those objectives side by side gives a more realistic picture of team performance than the formal team-time table alone. It also creates useful 2027 context when squads announce whether they are bringing a GC leader, sprinter or stage-hunting roster.
