Tour de France 2026 Results: Final GC & Classifications

See the final Tour de France 2026 results, GC top 10, jersey winners, team result and the key numbers from the 3,197 km race.

The final Tour de France 2026 results put Tadej Pogačar first overall, Remco Evenepoel second and Isaac del Toro third. Mads Pedersen won the points classification, Richard Carapaz the mountains competition, del Toro the young-rider classification and Lidl–Trek the team classification.

The final ranking page lists 3,197 km as the distance covered, a figure that differs from the longer published route total because Stages 9 and 21 were shortened during the race.

The four main jersey winners

Pogačar won five stages. Pedersen became the first Danish winner of the Tour points classification and, according to the organizer, the sixth rider to win the points competition in all three Grand Tours. Carapaz won two stages late in the race and the mountains classification. Del Toro combined the white jersey with third overall in his Tour debut.

What the GC gaps tell us

Pogačar’s 6m 26s margin was larger than his 6m 17s winning margin in 2024, according to the organizer’s post-race profile. The next fight was closer: del Toro finished 3m 16s behind Evenepoel, while Seixas was another 2m 14s back in fourth.

The top ten also showed a broad mix of generations and team objectives. Carapaz finished eighth while simultaneously winning the mountains competition; Pidcock was ninth; Jordan Jegat completed the top ten.

Points, mountains and youth are separate races

A standings page should not imply that the green or polka-dot jersey is simply a secondary version of GC. Points reward stage finishes and intermediate sprints. Mountains points are earned on categorized climbs. The white jersey uses overall time but is restricted by age eligibility.

Pedersen’s green-jersey campaign was built through aggressive racing as well as sprinting. Carapaz targeted climbs and breakaways. Del Toro’s white jersey was tied directly to his GC time because he was also third overall.

Team classification

The team classification should be presented from the official final table when published on the site. It measures team performance through aggregate times rather than counting stage wins. This is why “best team” in the formal classification and “team with the most victories” are not necessarily the same question.

Final team classification

The team competition gives a different view of the race from the individual GC:

Lidl–Trek combined Mads Pedersen's green-jersey campaign with high GC finishes from Mattias Skjelmose and Juan Ayuso, giving the team depth across several types of racing.

Why the distance figure needs an explanation

The official 2026 route page displays 3,320.7 km for the route, while the final classification page says 3,197 km total distance covered. The discrepancy should not be hidden or “corrected” by choosing whichever number looks cleaner. The Tour changed stages during the race.

Stage 9 was shortened because Corrèze went onto a red-alert heatwave. A.S.O. reduced the planned 185.5 km route by about 30 km. The final route listing shows 154.6 km. Stage 21 was also shortened, from a planned 133 km to about 89 km, after wildfires forced French security resources to be redeployed. The final stage page lists 88.7 km.

For historical statistics, use the 3,197 km final classification figure when describing distance actually covered and explain that the original/published route total was longer.

Results are more than the podium

Evenepoel's second place came with two stage wins. Del Toro was third and best young rider. Pedersen won green with 559 points. Carapaz won the mountains classification with 156 points, two stages and the overall combativity award. Those results are why a complete results page should link to the jersey, stage-winner and records articles rather than treating GC as the only outcome.
